American Birdhunter – Mallard Tracker featured
This episode from the Outdoor Channel’s American Birdhunter features our Mallard Tracker program (timestamp 5:50 – 9:50). While hunting with Nate Salisbury of Blackdog Guide Service in Ontario, the crew of American Birdhunter shot one of our banded hen Mallards that had a GPS unit attached to it. This hen was part of our Mallard Tracker program and this episode of American Birdhunter features the crews response to this exciting surprise!

Wood Banding Video
This video contains a brief introduction to our Wood Duck banding project. Long Point Waterfowl has a M.Sc. student (Matt Dyson) investigating breeding of Wood Ducks in the Long Point region and this banding information will be helpful in his research.
Long Point Causeway Project
This is addressing the importance of Long Point as one of Canada’s 16 Natural Biosphere Reserves and the Causeway Project that began in 2006. Long Point Waterfowl has been involved in this project for a few years now, with their main responsibility being to monitor the Causeway for mortality by species.
Canada In The Rough: Waterfowlers of the Future
This is a video from the TV show series, Canada in the Rough. They discuss the future of hunting in Canada, focusing on Long Point Waterfowl’s Youth Hunting and Conservation Course. This program is for youth between the ages of 12-16 to earn their firearms license, hunting license and turkey license.
