Rondeau Bay Waterfowler’s Association, a not-for-profit organization, has enjoyed a strong relationship with LPW for many years, including support for the 2005 -07 scaup tracker program. Because of the migration relationship between Lake St Clair and Rondeau Bay, the Association was very pleased to participate in the Mallard Tracker Program as it supports our mandate of “conservation, recreation, and education” through waterfowling.

The Aylmer Order of Good Cheer is a group of sportsmen that have hosted an annual wild game dinner, a fund raiser, for 40 years now. We donate $8,000 to $10,000 yearly to worthwhile conservation groups or youth functions. All of the game for the dinner is harvested and donated by the members. We supported the LPW Tundra Swan Tracker Program several years ago, the members really enjoyed it, and we have decided to sponsor a bird, (‘Roast”) for the current Mallard Tracker program. The Northwestern PA Duck Hunters Association is sponsoring a Mallard as part of the Long Point Waterfowl Mallard Tracker Project.  Long Point Waterfowl’s “Mallard Tracker” Program is aimed at understanding habitat use and any factors that limit Mallard survival in the Lake St. Clair region.

Their business centers around improving water quality and wildlife habitat, they plant tall grass prairie, native trees and shrubs, create wetlands and control non native invasive species. They felt that Long Point Waterfowl and the Mallard Tracker was a great program that they should fund as it is a very important information gathering project
